Labrador retrievers are a type of working dog which also classified as a gun dog. Labs are basically large size canines that normally weigh 30 to 40 kg for males and 25 to 30 for females. There are two classifications of their breeds that have been recognized by Lab authority. The conformation type or the bench or show type and the field type or commonly known as the working type. The show type are usually bred as medium sized with a shorter and fuller face and noted by its calm nature. On the other hand, the field counterparts are quite taller and lighter framed which is ideal for their highly active lifestyle.
Labrador retrievers are known by its three colours: solid black, yellow that includes the lighter shade of beige or cream to fox-red and chocolate brown which ranges in light intensity to dark. Moreover, Labs are also known for its even temperament thus, it is best to be a family dog. They are very caring and charming thus children can always play with them with the supervision of their parents. These dogs are fun loving therefore they really enjoy playing games and socialization. Labs are quiet type that means they seldom bark unless this is an alarming bark. They are very carefree and very gullible that makes them ineffective guard dog.
