5 Dog Whisperer Training Tips

dog trainingIf you put several plumbers in a room, they will easily agree on how the job should be done. On the other hand, dog whisperer training methods depend on the professional you ask: they all agree on this: job has to be done, bud they are wildly differing on how to do the task. Nevertheless, I’ll list five tips most dog whisperers agree upon.

1. A dog needs schedule. If you don’t want your puppy to become irritable and act out, set the times for feeding, interaction, training and exercise.

2. Punishment and discipline are not the same thing. If you pay attention to your dog’s training, you won’t need to punish him/her. Although it takes a lot of effort and time to see great improvements in the behavior of your beloved pet, you should invest as much as possible in a successful and proper training.

3. A dog will be a dog. Although most dog owners treat their pets in a humanized manner, it’s probably the biggest mistake we make. Although you should love and care for your doggy, you don’t need to treat him as a baby. Treating him as a child is probably more appropriate. So, don’t set your goals neither too high nor too low when training your furry family member.

4. Be consistent.  It’s easy to let your pet get away with doing something he/she shouldn’t do, for example eating off your kid’s plate. Even though you think “just this once”, your dog doesn’t realize that won’t be acceptable behavior tomorrow. In addition, all family members should be on the same page about acceptable and unacceptable behavior.

5. Never use fear, pain and intimidation. Instead of carrying a big stick, opt for carrying a delicious treat in your pocket to positively reinforce your beloved pet. Provide loving and carrying environment instead of the life full of terror and pain and your dog will live happier and healthier life and give you so much in return.
