I love photography and often love to share thoughts and gain knowledge with other photographers wherever I go. During my journey through the photography world, I’ve met some amazing photographers and Jason Kenzie whom I met just recently is so unique that I just cannot resist myself from mentioning about him.
Growing up with a camera in his hand and dance in his blood, the world famous wildlife and pet photographer Jason Kenzie started his professional life as an event photographer, only to jump head first into Lion infested jungles, Crocodile rich waters and swamps crawling with Snakes for fun photography.
I was introduced to him when I just wanted headshots. But when he showed me his photography of two ten foot Alligators and Jumping Kangaroos that are family to some people who seem to have no fear, I was hooked on knowing more about Jason.
Born and brought up in Vancouver, BC, Jason was always attracted to the beautiful landscapes of Vancouver and was passionate about photography; but he first chose dance as his career. While he taught dance for 20 years, he also traveled across the world with several music groups during which he always carried a camera. It was on the Miami Beach, Florida where he met his guru – a highly knowledgeable and talented photographer, Robert, who taught him some outstanding photography techniques which he still uses. And there his passion for photography truly got a direction.
While spending time in the scorching hot days in Florida backwaters, Jason started capturing wildlife in his camera. As excited as he was, he followed his guru, Robert, even into the Everglades swamps to catch glimpses of snakes and alligators, and in the South for key deer.
Jason Kenzie is just crazy when it comes to animal photography, and it’s sheer fantastic to watch him when his full attention is capturing the most amazing pets that people around the world have.
Jason seems like a kid in a candy store, when his eye is against a camera; you can see that he truly loves his job, when he is playing with man’s best friends.
Jason keeps traveling around the world because people will fly him out just to have photos taken, no matter if it’s a family gathering or an adventure! Yes, they just hire him to accompany them on an adventure. If you want some amazing animal photography done, Jason is the guy for you.
